• Performs all imaging exams, appropriately marks films, adjusts film density and contrast, and enters accurate charge upon completion of exams.
• Prepares examination room prior to each exam by checking equipment and supplies.
• Ensures medical necessity of procedures.
• Prepares patient for exam, monitors patient during exam, and positions patients for exam.
• Assists in locating and retrieving prior exam studies, puts in comparison order on films done prior to PACS, scans in old films in digitizer and transmits to PACS.
• Assists in releasing imaging studies upon receipt of authorization for patient or designee and competent in burning CD with proper format for review of images.
• Obtains signed consent form prior to all contrast exams.
• Documents contrast reactions on proper form and denote lot numbers.
• Provides patient with follow up instructions when necessary.
• Transmits exams via internet.
• Performs fix up studies on PACS system to verify patient information.
• Completes proper forms before transporting patient.
• Obtains patient history for Radiologist.
