JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a CT Technologist whose responsibility is to provide direct patient care related to radiology services, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Provides safe and efficient imaging to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations. Responsible for the supervision of professional or skilled personnel. The position reports to the Director of Imaging Services
Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of a two-year radiology technology program.
Formal Training: Preferred to be able to operate the following imaging services machines proficiently within three months of employment: C-Arm, PACS system, Xray, CT and MRI.
Licensure, Certifications & Registration: American Registered Radiologic Technologist status. Current BLS Certification required.
Work Experience: 1 year of MRI and CT experience. MRI & CT clinical competency required.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Performs all imaging exams, appropriately marks films, adjusts film density and contrast, and enters accurate charge upon completion of exams.
- Prepares examination room prior to each exam by checking equipment and supplies.
- Ensures medical necessity of procedures.
- Prepares patient for exam, monitors patient during exam, and positions patients for exam.
- Assists in locating and retrieving prior exam studies, puts in comparison order on films done prior to PACS, scans in old films in digitizer and transmits to PACS.
- Assists in releasing imaging studies upon receipt of authorization for patient or designee and competent in burning CD with proper format for review of images.
- Obtains signed consent form prior to all contrast exams.
- Documents contrast reactions on proper form and denote lot numbers.
- Provides patient with follow up instructions when necessary.
- Transmits exams via internet.
- Performs fix up studies on PACS system to verify patient information.
- Completes proper forms before transporting patient.
- Obtains patient history for Radiologist.
