My client is a top notch WDE certified Structural Consulting Engineering firm. They are seeking a Civil Structural Bridge Engineer with their PE to be put immediately into a Partnership track type opportunity.
My client needs to maintain their WBE status for government work. Most likely will have to be a woman or minority in this role with their PE.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead structural evaluations of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls to assess condition, capacity, and serviceability.
- Develop and oversee rehabilitation and strengthening solutions for existing bridges and transportation structures.
- Serve as a technical lead for the design of new bridges and major modifications to existing structures.
- Perform and review load rating analyses in compliance with AASHTO, CDOT, and FHWA requirements.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents.
- Conduct and oversee field inspections, including complex or critical structures.
- Interpret historical and current bridge design codes to determine required upgrades and compliance strategies.
- Develop and review detailed drawings, specifications, and bid documents for repair and replacement projects.
- Provide construction-phase support, including shop drawing review, RFIs, and field issue resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to QA/QC standards and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- 8–12 years of structural engineering experience with a strong emphasis on bridge design, inspection, and rehabilitation.
- NHI Bridge Inspection Team Lead certification required or ability to obtain if not already held.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software (MicroStation, SAP2000, AASHTOWARE BrR, and CSI Bridge strongly preferred).
- Extensive experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and CDOT standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for field work.
