Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer

You design the logic that turns steel and wire into smart, reliable production. Here, your controls will drive automated manufacturing systems across multiple facilities and industries.
You’ll take projects from concept to commissioning – analyzing requirements, designing controls architecture, programming PLCs and HMIs, and seeing it all come to life on the plant floor.

What You'll Work On
You’ll be the go-to controls engineer on a variety of industrial automation projects, including:
This is hands-on industrial automation – from drawings and code to powering up real machines.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ve been the controls point-person on the plant floor – comfortable jumping into a PLC program, deciphering a print, and getting a stubborn machine back online. You understand how to design robust control systems up front so you’re not just firefighting later.
If you’ve touched multiple platforms and worked across PLCs, HMIs, drives, SCADA, DCS, and robotics, you’ll stand out fast.

- System testing, commissioning, and optimization

What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing control systems for industrial automation applications
- Programming and troubleshooting PLCs for automated manufacturing systems
- Creating and refining HMI screens and operator interfaces
- Configuring and supporting drives, servos, and motion control solutions
- Designing and troubleshooting industrial networks for controls and SCADA
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and system owners on project scope
- Managing project timelines to keep work on schedule and within budget
- Conducting testing, startup, and commissioning of automation systems
- Troubleshooting control issues and implementing long-term fixes
- Supporting improvements and upgrades to existing automated equipment
- Providing customer-facing engineering services and technical support
- Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems in industrial facilities
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming for industrial automation
- Experience with HMI design for machine and process control
- Working knowledge of industrial networks used in control systems
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Experience with motion control systems and servo drives
- Background in electrical control panel design and integration
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer, or related) or technical associate’s with equivalent experience
