Junior Structural Engineer
Permanent, On Site | Hackensack New Jersey
Structural Engineer
2–5 years of structural engineering experience designing buildings, structures, and infrastructure. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency (Green Card) is required.
Join a multidisciplinary engineering team working on structural design from concept through construction. This role is suited to an engineer who can perform structural analysis and design, develop calculations and construction documents, and coordinate structural requirements with other engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency (Green Card)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- 2–5 years of structural engineering experience
- EIT preferred
- Working knowledge of AISC, ASCE, and AWS design codes
- Experience with structural analysis and design of steel and other building structures
- STAAD or FEA software experience preferred
- Exposure to piping support design is a plus
- Exposure to ASME and CAESAR II pipe stress analysis is a plus
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing is beneficial
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, structures, and infrastructure projects
- Design and evaluate structural steel systems and supporting structures
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Coordinate structural design with mechanical, piping, and other engineering disciplines
- Support projects from conceptual design through detailed design and construction
- Review structural requirements and resolve design issues with project teams
- Interface with clients, suppliers, and internal engineering teams
- Make occasional field visits for inspections and project execution
