About Liberty Mutual

At Liberty Mutual, we believe progress happens when people feel secure. As one of the world's leading property and casualty insurers, we help people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow. We're committed to building an inclusive, collaborative workplace where diverse perspectives drive better outcomes for our customers and each other.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a detail-oriented Specialty Lines Operations Associate to help ensure accurate policy administration, effective vendor management, and strong regulatory compliance across our Specialty Lines insurance products. In this role, you'll process and service Specialty Lines policies, perform quality assurance, maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and attestations, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence.

This is a great opportunity to grow your technical and product expertise in a fast-moving specialty insurance environment while working alongside a supportive, improvement-focused team.

This role is hybrid. If you live within 50 miles of a Liberty Mutual office, you'll be expected to work in the office at least twice per week. (Please note this policy is subject to change.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with vendors to collect, validate, and reconcile source data required to accurately process and service Specialty Lines insurance products.
  • Apply and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Specialty Lines workflows, including endorsements, coverages, and policy lifecycle activities.
  • Conduct detailed quality assurance reviews of vendor deliverables, system outputs, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update attestation and compliance documentation to meet Specialty Lines regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
  • Support monitoring of vendor performance against contractual obligations and service-level agreements (SLAs); help identify and escalate operational issues for resolution.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and other internal teams to support accurate policy administration and claims processing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis efforts that optimize policy issuance and servicing workflows.
  • Share Specialty Lines knowledge and best practices in team huddles, helping foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • Assist in guiding and onboarding team members and business partners on Specialty Lines procedures and system usage.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to deepen expertise in Specialty Lines products, regulatory changes, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience, plus 1–2 years of insurance industry experience.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow and help refine detailed processing instructions and SOPs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with processing systems.
  • Strong customer service orientation, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
  • Experience working with Specialty Lines products (e.g., D&O, E&O, Crime, Fiduciary, Healthcare, and Environmental) or related endorsements and policy lifecycle processes.
  • Prior vendor management or quality assurance (QA) experience in an insurance operations setting.
