Position Summary: The Next Gen Pastor is responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing a comprehensive ministry of reaching, teaching, and ministering to children, students, and young adults.

Position Reports To: Executive Pastor
Hours: This is a full-time position and requires the Next Generation Pastor to be on call on a rotating basis with other pastoral staff. A basic work schedule consists of working Monday through Thursday, 8:30 – 4:30 PM. Attendance at all Sunday and Wednesday services and special events is required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead Next Gen initiatives by implementing a strategy of one church meeting in multiple locations which share a common mission, vision, values, strategy, budget, and leadership.
- Serve as a gatekeeper of Liberty’s Kids, Students and Young Adult Ministry Staff to ensure that DNA alignment and expectations are maintained across all campuses.
- Innovate, plan, and assist local campus Next Gen Staff in carrying out events and programs with the intent of reaching kids and student families as well as young adults with the Gospel.
- Contextualize Liberty’s discipling process for kids, students, and young adults who have made or desire to make a profession of faith that each ministry can implement.
- Create a means to assimilate kids, students, and young adults in Groups and equip group leaders in reaching, teaching, and ministering.
- Develop a means to enlist, equip and involve kids, students, and young adults in age-appropriate ministries that fit their passion and calling.
- Lead the overall Next Gen ministry to embrace missions in a means that is consistent with Liberty’s Missions Strategy.
- Lead Kids and Student Staff to schedule and conduct parenting and family enrichment activities to disciple parents to provide Godly leadership in their homes.
- Evaluate through on site visits the Kids, Student, and Young Adult ministries at Liberty campuses to judge and improve effectiveness in reaching, teaching, and ministering and offer quality improvement.
- Select Biblically based and age-appropriate curriculum for each age level in the Next Gen ministry.
- Oversee and plan for the Next Gen budget across Liberty Campuses.
- Serve as a key leader, partnering with the Executive Pastor in hiring Next Gen Ministry Staff.
- Serve as a player/coach on the Hampton Campus, giving direct oversite to the Next Gen Staff.
- Mentor and encourage Liberty Members who are potential staff ministry directors.

- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.

- Follow Liberty’s policies and procedures.
- Work in coordination with the overall mission, goals and objectives of the church which are summarized by the mission statement “Changing Lives, Communities and the World.”
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to relate to children and parents personally.
- Ability to recruit and train Next Gen Staff Members to be part of a ministry team.
- Ability to learn and abide by Church policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner and use tact and discretion.
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree. A master’s degree in a ministry related field is preferred.
- At least three 5 years of experience in leading a Next Gen ministry.
- Be a self-starter with drive, passion, and initiative.
Conditions and Physical Requirements:
The job will primarily be carried out in an office setting and require sitting, standing, as well as bending, and carrying some moderately heavy items.
