Position Objective – Irrigation Technician: The primary role of the Irrigation Technician will be to expertly install, repair, and maintain irrigation projects as directed by the irrigation crew leader, design consultants, customers and managers in the expected time budgeted.

The responsibilities of the Irrigation Technician are:

1.Make irrigation service calls as required and requested by our customers including retail, commercial and internal jobs. Service calls executed properly will result in estimates and invoices prepared and submitted properly and timely. It will result in accurate inventory, timely calls, communication to the customer and Installation Crew Leader (or manager) about the status of the jobs.

2.To complete the irrigation work as required and troubleshoot problems. This includes, but is not limited to, digging, trenching, low-voltage electrical connections, pipe, valve and head repairs.

3.To maintain accurate inventory of products.

4.To maintain a strong relationship with our vendors.

5.To sell new jobs and prepare estimates.

6.To assist team members with other type of landscape projects as needed. This might include laying sod, planting trees/plants, spreading mulch, installing lighting and hardscape projects.

7.Irrigation technicians are expected to have a valid driver’s license for the type of truck and trailer they will be operating on a regular basis and an ability to handle the physical demands of daily landscape installation.

12.Maintain store appearance by vacuuming, emptying trash cans, cleaning counters and windows, straightening showroom, update in-store merchandising and keeping area neat.

13.Solve problems to the best of your ability as they arise. There are not many emergencies in this business so many situations need to be dealt with reasonably until they can be discussed with ownership and a permanent solution can be established. Most important, if you’re not sure ask and never be afraid to tell the customer you don’t know.

14.Adhere to strict confidentiality of company financial figures, including our cost, profit margins and gross sales. Violation of this policy is subject to immediate termination.

15.Keep track of time on Timelogix automated time clock system.

Hourly Expectations:

Typically, the Irrigation Technician position is Monday-Friday, although some exceptions may occur due to weather, customer needs or other situations. Exact start times are determined by your manager and may depend on weather, sunlight, project demands and other factors. Finish time each day will depend on job progress, commitments made to the customer and other scheduling factors. Flexibility will be required. This job will typically be 40 hours per week but could fluctuate some in either direction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
