Located in Rushville, Illinois - the facility is within commuting distance of Macomb, about an hour drive from Springfield, and a few hours’ drive from Chicago, St. Louis and the Quad Cities.

As a Lead Recreation Therapist with Liberty Healthcare, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Designing and leading a dynamic therapeutic recreation program within a secure treatment setting
- Supervising and managing a team of recreation therapists
- Assessing residents’ interests in recreational activities
- Creating, implementing, organizing and leading therapeutic recreation activities with individuals and groups
- Engaging with clients
- Fostering a positive therapeutic milieu
- Partnering with the Clinical Director and Team Leaders, and actively participating in leadership and interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Salary range commensurate with the responsibilities of this position and your credentials
- 30 days of cumulative paid time off annually for vacation, sick and personal time plus 10 paid holidays

You are a good fit for this position if you possess the following:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field
- Certified by the NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRS)
- Management experience and the ability to lead others
- Knowledge of best practices in therapeutic recreation
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and maintain objectivity with clients
