DIETARY AIDE
Job Summary
- Follows planned menu and receives meal orders from residents.
- Prepares food and beverages for serving based on established procedures.
- Provides food service to residents; including portioning, plating, loading, delivering and serving resident meals.
- Assists in serving plates and tray cart, including loading, delivering, and serving.
- Washes, rinses, and sanitizes glasses, dishes, silverware, service ware, etc. according to established procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas and sinks after each meal or as needed.
- Clears, cleans, and sanitizes tables.
- Sweeps and mops floors as assigned.
- Cleans cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, walls, garbage cans, carts, pantries, and other equipment in department as needed.
- Follows posted cleaning schedules.
- Assists in preparation of meals, drinks, supplements, and snacks.
- Assists with duties of the Cook and Assistant Cook as needed and/or assigned.
- In case of fire or fire drill:
- Shuts off electrical equipment.
- Closes doors.
- Reports to Nurses Station for further instructions.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must purchase and wear required uniform.
- Must be able to use equipment without jeopardizing the safety of self, others or equipment.
- Must be able to use supplies economically.
- Must attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
- Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Must read, know and follow personnel, department, and Facility policies.
