Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely individuals in treatment working on their recovery from substance use disorders as well as with the clinical and nursing teams at Liberty Health Services. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to manage crises effectively while providing a nurturing environment.
The purpose of a BHT is to assist in providing a safe environment for individuals while they are in the program (Medically Monitored Detox and Residential Treatment). The BHT assists with the admission processes, recording vitals, ensuring safety with making rounds of the facility and supporting clients needs while they are in our care. The BHT is the liaison between the client and the staff to report any changes to the client's physical or mental condition. The BHT is responsible for supervising clients with an emphasis on client safety and wellbeing.
Duties:
- Assisting with the admission process which includes documentation, searching of belongings and orienting the clients into Liberty Health Services.
- Utilizing an EHR system (KIPU) to document client's belongings, vital signs, urine drug screen results, and other required documentations pertaining to admission until discharge.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including data collection on behaviors and interventions.
- Assist in crisis management and intervention strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Adhere to all state and federal guidelines including but not limited to confidentiality, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2.
- Closely monitor client's locations and behaviors while conducting routine rounds to ensure the safety of clients, staff and the facility.
- Communicate effectively to the other departments to ensure the client is receiving the highest quality of care possible.
- Provide patient care that includes monitoring vital signs and supporting daily living activities.
Requirements:
- Experience and knowledge of Substance Use Treatment.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies is essential.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and collaboration.
