We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Sales Associate who has a passion for hardwood lumber and the woodworking industry. Our clients range from contractors, custom furniture builders, cabinet makers, and master craftsmen to home improvement enthusiasts, DIYers, as well as woodworking beginners.
Job Description:
Customer Service: Greet, engage, and assist customers in selecting lumber and related products, providing guidance on product features, usage, and installation.
Sales and Transactions: Complete sales transactions accurately, apply promotions or discounts, and ensure proper tax collection.
Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels, replenish lumber and related items, and keep the display area organized and clean.
Product Knowledge: Understand hardwood lumber and plywood types, dimensions, and applications, and advise customers on project needs. Background in and knowledge of hardwood and woodworking is preferred.
Cutting and Loading: Measure, cut, and help load lumber into customer vehicles or trailers as needed.
Safety Compliance: Follow company safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Basic mathematical skills for measuring, cutting, and processing sales transactions.
Knowledge of lumber products, tools, and construction materials.
Physical ability to lift, move, and load lumber safely.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
