Liberty Grove Schools is a growing, community-centered public charter school located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded with a commitment to academic excellence and whole-child development, we serve a diverse population of students and families who are deeply invested in education and community impact.

As an established school with strong systems and a clear vision, Liberty Grove continues to expand thoughtfully. We are excited to be growing into a full middle school model, with the addition of 7th grade this school year. About the Role 

Liberty Grove Schools is seeking an Instructional Coach for 5th - 7th grades, to work with individual teachers and grade level teams to design effective lesson plans, model instructional strategies, and provide feedback to classroom teachers. Instructional Coaches play a key role in fostering an environment of continuous improvement by working closely with teachers to strengthen their instructional strategies and address diverse student needs. Additionally, Instructional Coaches collaborate with the student support services team to ensure all students strive toward meeting our expectation of engagement and working hard to meet their academic and social-emotional needs.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

• Support teachers in understanding student social, emotional and academic data and developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet individual students' needs. 
• Conduct classroom observations and provide meaningful feedback to identify teacher strength and growth areas and to improve classroom practices.
• Assist in creating intervention and acceleration learning plans for students.
• Participate in curriculum planning and development.
• Evaluate school and grade level performance data to identify, develop and modify instruction to foster effective instructional strategies.
• Design and facilitate professional development training sessions to help teachers strengthen their teaching practices.
• Support teachers to effectively use technology and other educational tools to drive student outcomes.
• Engage parents and community members in all school activities to foster a community approach to learning and development.
• Lead in developing best practices for teachers that allow all students to strive toward their full potential.
• Serve as a resource for current educational research and best practices.
• Work in partnership with the Student Support Service Team to ensure all student academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Graduate Degree preferred 
• Valid Indiana State Teacher’s License or equivalent required; Building Level Administrator License strongly preferred
• 3- 5 years of successful classroom experience with demonstrated exemplary results within an urban charter school setting.
• Proven leadership capabilities that enable a welcoming teaching and learning environment.
• Demonstrated success managing staff through planning, motivating, rewarding, and providing targeted feedback and professional development.
• A passion for educational excellence, data-driven instruction, and a personal commitment to accountability for results.
• A belief in the effectiveness of practice and collaboration as a means to guide instructional staff.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and experience with implementing effective instructional and behavioral methods for educating youth.
