Liberty FCU is currently seeking applicants to fill an Inside Mortgage Loan Originator role to work on-site at our Main Office located at 4401 Theater Drive, Evansville, IN 47715. Please note this is a non-remote role. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ability to initiate and develop outside business to drive loan volume is required. Experience with mortgage loan sales is required. - Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
- Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrowers to make sales of residential mortgage loans.
- Cross sell Credit Union products and services.
- Make outgoing calls to sell our products and services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products including purchase money 1st mortgages, 1st mortgage refinances, 2nd mortgages, HELOCs, bridge loans, construction loans, and VA/USDA/FHA loans.
- Understand and apply all federal rules and regulations associated with mortgage lending.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with realtors.
- Attend purchase loan closings.
- Assist in fielding member calls associated with mortgage lending.
- Develop a working knowledge of the Credit Union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel software.
- Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
