Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Closerto join the Mortgage Team. The candidate must possess excellent member service skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance while performing in the position. - Close mortgage loans:
- Establish date and time with member.
- Coordinate closing times with title companies and originators for purchase loans.
- Review all documents with members and obtain signatures where required.
- Close mortgage loans in office for specific mortgage loan programs.
- Clear closing conditions:
- Order payoffs for existing liens being paid off for the closing.
- Prepare name, property, hold harmless, judgment, and occupancy affidavits.
- Obtain releases on previous liens.
- Complete verbal verifications of employment.
- Prepare Closing Disclosure settlement figures.
- Obtain homeowners insurance verification.
- Review closing figures with members prior to closing.
- Review all loan documents prior to closing for accuracy.
- Cross sell credit union products and services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products including purchase money 1st mortgages, 1st mortgage refinances, 2nd mortgages, HELOCs, bridge loans, government and construction loans.
- Understand and apply federal regulations associated with mortgage loans.
- Perform notary services.
- Develop a working knowledge of the credit union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and EXCEL software.
- Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
