We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role is crucial for the safe operation of various types of heavy machinery used in site excavation, utility installation, and site demolition. You'll be operating equipment such as scrapers, backhoes, excavators, and dozers. We also offer additional hourly wages for Scraper and Grader Operators!
The responsibilities for this role include performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, fine grading to given specifications, handling bulk materials, and ensuring safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. You'll also be involved in snow plowing, digging ditches, excavating trenches, and maintaining a clean job site.
To be successful in this role, you should have a working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and the methods, materials, and tools used in site excavation and utility work. You should be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions, establish effective working relationships, and make independent judgments with considerable impacts on the organization.
The physical demands of this job include working near moving mechanical parts and in various weather conditions, lifting objects of 75 lbs frequently, and using your hands and arms to operate controls. You will also be required to stand, walk, talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell regularly.
