System Administrator

Summary of Position:

Provides operational, project, and initiative support for all aspects of enterprise IT systems. This includes service request fulfillment, incident response, and routine maintenance and auditing. This position also requires the ability to identify and effectively communicate opportunities for improvement and reducing technical debt.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems/Industrial Engineering, or related field. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
• 5 years of systems administration experience.
• Deep understanding and operational knowledge of scripting languages, operating systems, current technologies, disaster recovery procedures, and monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication, organizational, and analytical skills required.
• Ability and desire to work in a team environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operational support, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of corporate servers and IT services across local and remote sites.
• Determines system requirements, designs solutions, and installs and integrates new or replacement system hardware and software.
• Monitors system performance and responds to system incidents and outages.
• Ensures system security and compliance.
• Works with IT Architects to aid in design, implementation, and continual improvement of infrastructure.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Operates in a business casual office environment as well as field offices that may include warehouses, maintenance shops, and laboratories.
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, multi-function copiers, mobile phones, and desk phones
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
• Occasional travel may be required as job duties demand.
