At Liberty Electric, we power the infrastructure that connects communities across the Pacific Northwest. We’re looking for an organized, resourceful, and motivated Buyer to lead procurement operations for materials, tools, equipment, and subcontracts that keep our projects moving.
This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of field operations, project management, and vendor relations—ensuring we source the right materials, at the right price, at the right time.
What You’ll Do
As a Buyer, you’ll play a key role in managing the company’s purchasing and procurement program for commodities, material packages, subcontracts, tools, and equipment.
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Research and identify the best products, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet project needs.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency and quality.
- Review plans, specifications, and contracts to confirm accuracy of material and service orders.
- Award or recommend purchase orders and subcontracts based on best value and compliance.
- Vendor & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors, distributors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor vendor performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage pricing structures, vendor agreements, and supplier documentation.
- Operations & Coordination
- Collaborate with field and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Track and bill tools, vehicles, and equipment for job costing.
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep schedules for company equipment and tools.
- Support field operations with up-to-date material submittals, forms, and documentation.
- Process & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety requirements, and legal regulations.
- Maintain detailed procurement records and cost coding for all purchases.
- Evaluate procurement methods and develop improved processes for efficiency and accountability.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in the electrical or construction industry (procurement experience preferred).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills & Qualities:
- Excellent knowledge of electrical materials and construction processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, COINS, APEX, and related procurement systems.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent, ethical, and proactive in decision-making.
