LEAD CONVEYOR BELT VULCANIZERS / BELT TECHNICIANS
Liberty Construction Services / Conveyor Division is looking to add 1 - 2 strong experienced Lead Conveyor belt vulcanizers / belt technicians to our growing team.
We're looking for experienced lead belt people who can take ownership of a job, lead a crew, and get the job done in a safely and timely manner, with minimal supervision. This is not an entry level position.
We are specifically looking for people who know the belt industry, and have worked in the belt industry, that can step into the field and contribute immediately. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining conveyor belt systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operations of conveyor systems, minimizing downtime and optimizing productivity.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the efficiency of high-volume production environments.
EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF :
- Mulit-ply conveyor belt installation and replacement
- accurately laying out, preparing and completing vulcanized splices
- Setting up and operating vulcanizing presses
- Directing technicians and maintaing an effecient crew
- planning and coordinating belt change outs
- Communicating with customers and jobsite supervision
- Hot vulcanized conveyor belt splicing
- Cold splicing and mechanical fasteners
- Fabric belt installations and replacements
- Conveyor Belt troubleshooting and repairs
- Belt tracking and basic conveyor troubleshooting
- Setting up belts pulls, come-alongs, winches, clamps and rigging
- Vulcanizing presses and associated equipment
- Proper belt preparation, measuring and splice layout
- LOTO and conveyor specific safety procedures
- Be able to work safely around the cranes rigging and heavy equipment
- Experience with multi ply fabric conveyor belting is especially valuable
We are especially interested in people who can be given a scope of work, evaluate the job, organize their crew and equipment, and safely execute the work without needing constant supervision.
This position requires frequent travel.
Our home shop is Birmingham Alabama, but our Conveyor company Division performs work throughout Alabama, and across the country. Current locations and typical work areas include the following

- Oklahoma
- Arkansas
- Kentucky
- Virginia
- other locations as future jobs require
