Summary
As a Personal Banker, you’ll be a trusted partner for our customers—helping them navigate everyday banking needs while building long-term financial relationships. You’ll deliver exceptional service, provide guidance on our products and services, and contribute to a welcoming and efficient branch environment.
This role offers a strong foundation in retail banking, opportunities for cross-training, and meaningful involvement in the community we serve. You’ll work closely with branch leadership to support daily operations while ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with Bank policies and state and federal regulations, including BSA/AML.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver exceptional customer service, taking ownership of inquiries and ensuring timely, accurate follow-through.
- Process a variety of customer transactions, including teller transactions, with accuracy and attention to detail—serving as a trusted financial advisor.
- Onboard new customers and support ongoing maintenance of deposit accounts, cash management services, debit and credit cards, and online/mobile banking.
- Educate customers on Bank products and services, identifying opportunities to meet their financial needs.
- Refer customers to appropriate internal partners for lending and specialized services.
- Participate in daily branch operations, including reviewing reports, certifications, and operational tasks.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming branch environment.
- Provide operational, compliance, and administrative support to the branch and other departments as needed.
- Serve as backup for the courier route when required.
- Actively pursue professional development and support collaboration within the branch and across the Bank.
- Represent the Bank at community and civic events to strengthen relationships and enhance the Bank’s presence.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct while supporting the Bank’s mission and values.
Minimum Requirements
These guidelines represent the minimum experience and qualifications typically required for successful performance in this role. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Three years of related banking experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in bank sales, customer service, and teller operations.
- Prior customer service or cash-handling experience (retail, cashier, hospitality, etc.) preferred.
- Basic understanding of state and federal banking regulations and internal Bank operational policies.
- Proficiency with computers and banking software, including accurate data entry.
- Strong numerical and math skills with attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a properly insured vehicle, if driving is required as part of assigned duties.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Full-time, in-person position: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
- Regular use of computers, telephones, and office equipment such as printers, scanners, and copiers.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while viewing computer screens and reviewing reports.
- Frequent communication with internal and external contacts and movement throughout the office.
- Ability to concentrate amid frequent interruptions and occasional distractions.
- Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to scheduled hours are required.
- Willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule or extended hours when needed.
