Job Description and Role Within the USD 480 Instructional Support System
Position Purpose
The District Teacher Pathway Coordinator oversees the systems, documentation, and organizational structures that support teacher pathway development in USD 480, including Grow Here participants, interim teachers, resident interims, Registered Teacher Apprentices (RTA), practicum and student teachers, and other staff pursuing teacher licensure.
The District Teacher Pathway Coordinator serves as the district’s primary coordinator for:
- Professional Plans of Study (PPS)
- Registered Teacher Apprenticeship (RTA) requirements
- Licensure and certification tracking
- Coursework and testing milestones
- University coordination
- Pathway participant onboarding and support
This position also serves as a primary support person to the Director of Recruitment and Education in district recruitment and pathway initiatives by assisting with candidate communication, organization, logistics, onboarding, and recruitment support systems.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Professional Plans of Study (PPS)
- Coordinate Registered Teacher Apprenticeship (RTA) requirements
- Monitor coursework, transcripts, testing, and licensure milestones
- Maintain pathway documentation, records, and service agreements
- Coordinate with universities and alternative licensure programs
- Assist with onboarding pathway participants
- Coordinate with principals, coaches, and district staff regarding participant progress
- Support assignment and coordination of university supervision duties
- Assist the Director of Recruitment and Education with recruitment logistics and candidate support
- Coordinate communication with prospective candidates and university partners
- Support recruitment events, recruiting trips, and candidate visits
- Maintain recruitment databases, candidate tracking systems, and communication logs
- Assist with pathway and recruitment-related presentations, materials, and communications
- Promote district pathway opportunities and initiatives to staff, students, and community members
- Other duties as assigned
