Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Shop Hand to assist with daily operations at our ready-mix concrete batch plant. This position supports plant staff with concrete bunk pours, general shop and office housekeeping, and other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, and willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
Duties
- Assist with the pouring and forming of concrete bunks and other concrete-related tasks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the shop, yard, and office areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including handling waste disposal and inventory management
- Assist plant operators, mechanics, and supervisors with tasks as needed.
- Help move materials, tools, and equipment around the facility.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times and company policies
- Work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Operate forklifts safely to move materials and supplies around the plant and warehouse areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks, ensuring accurate documentation of shipments
- Assist in routine inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely in a warehouse or factory setting
- Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
