Job description

LI Script is a Long Term Care Pharmacy located in Woodbury, NY. We provide pharmaceutical services, products and care for residents of skilled nursing facilities, short-term rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities and other long term care facilities on Long Island and throughout New York State. We aim to help long term care facilities deliver high standards for their residents with personalized products and services.

LI Script is currently looking for biller who can assist with day-to-day and month-end billing, facility census, and claim adjudications that are related to long-term care nursing and assisted living facilities with a high degree of accuracy and integrity in their work.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the patients’ medical information is accurate and up to date
• Identify the billing data regarding each patient and determine whether to bill insurance or the facility
• Identify and Investigate electronically denied claims promptly to ensure quick adjudication
• Contact facilities or patient family members for proper billing information
• Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
• Responsible for ensuring that products and services which are delivered have complete and appropriate documentation.
• Utilizes effective written/verbal communications
• Complies with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies regarding the operation of the pharmacy
• Performs data and prescription entry including insurance information and processing
• Demonstrates consciousness of actions in quality and accuracy of work, being honest and forthright about all work-related information
• Properly bills out prescriptions to insurance companies and deals with rejections if claim is not paid.
• Assists in clinic and patient support functions that may include insurance benefits verification, prior authorization management, compliance/adherence services or other clerical or administrative functions
• Manage refill-to-soon rejections process
• Process combines prescription billing (same drug with multiple doses)
• Provide prescription price quotes to nursing centers and prescriber’s representatives
• Process short orders and partial fill prescriptions billing from pharmacy production
• Handles prescription test claims

Requirements:

• A team player with a positive attitude that is reliable, honest, self-motivated
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively solve problems
• Be able to work independently and cohesively within a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Preferred Experience:

• Prior pharmacy experience
• Knowledge of insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
• Framework LTC software experience preferred
