Engineering Manager - Electrical Distribution Equipment

About the Opportunity
A PE-backed custom manufacturer of electrical distribution and controls equipment, boasting some of the fastest lead times for top clients in Commercial, Industrial, Data Center, Renewable, Utilities, Food & Beverage, and Retail markets.
They are now seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its growing Houston-based Engineering team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of a team of ~5 mechanical and electrical engineers and play a critical role in improving execution, accountability, and cross-functional alignment within a face-paced Made-to-Order factory environment.
Transferrable Experience Welcome
This role will focus on Low Voltage Panelboards & Switchboards, however any Electrical Equipment Manufacturing product experience is welcome (i.e Transformers, UPS Systems, E-Houses, etc).
*Either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds are fully acceptable.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of ~5 electrical and mechanical engineers on-site
- Drive performance management through KPIs, metrics, and accountability
- Improve cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Operations, PM, Sales, and Supply Chain
- Reduce errors and improve execution impacting both the shop floor and customers
- Establish urgency, ownership, and strong communication within the engineering team
- Support ongoing growth and scaling of the Houston operation
What We're Looking For
- Proven people leadership experience (team management, KPIs, performance tracking)
- Background in an engineered-to-order (ETO) environment (custom designs vs. standard products)
- Experience in a manufacturing or factory setting
- Strong understanding of low/medium voltage power distribution (or similar adjacent equipment)
- Ability to operate cross-functionally and build credibility on the shop floor
- Comfortable leveraging engineering metrics, dashboards, and data to drive accountability
Highly Preferred (But Not Required)
- Direct experience with LV/MV switchgear, panelboards, or switchboards
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or vendor-driven 3D design tools
