Procurement Associate (Temp to Perm)

Job Summary:

LHH is looking for a Procurement Associate for our client in Norwich, CT. This person will manage the acquisition of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services for commercial construction initiatives, overseeing vendor negotiations and purchasing activities to support budget control, schedule adherence, and quality standards.

Procurement & Purchasing

• Coordinate the sourcing and acquisition of construction materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements and financial targets

• Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders, subcontracts, and vendor agreements

Vendor & Subcontractor Management

• Maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontract partners

• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and commercial conditions

Cost Control & Analysis

• Partner with estimating and project teams to align procurement plans with approved budgets

Project Coordination

• Align procurement activities with overall project schedules and milestones

• Address material availability or supply chain challenges proactively to minimize project impact

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure purchasing activities adhere to internal policies, contract terms, and applicable regulations

• Maintain complete and accurate procurement files, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor records

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills

• Strong analytical and cost-control mindset

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Proficiency in procurement and project management software (e.g., Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, ERP systems)

• Advanced Excel skills preferred

Pay rate: $40-45/hr
