Survey Instrument Person — Ellicott City, MD
We’re seeking a Survey Instrument Person to support field crews performing land surveying work throughout the Maryland area.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Survey Party Chief with boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and location surveys
- Set up and operate GPS/GNSS, data collectors, levels, total stations, and other survey equipment
- Establish survey control points and assist with construction staking
- Recover property corners and assist with boundary and easement surveys
- Maintain accurate field notes and survey data
- Assist the Party Chief with day-to-day field operations
Qualifications:
- Previous land surveying or related field experience preferred
- Familiarity with survey equipment such as GPS/GNSS, total stations, and data collectors preferred
- Ability to read basic plans and follow field instructions
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors and perform the physical requirements of field surveying
Compensation: $20–$30/hour, depending on experience.
