The LHH is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Coordinator (EHS Coordinator) for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Lafayette, IN. This is an opportunity to join an established EHS Department which a strong commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all employees. You will serve as a safety champion, lead trainings, ensure OSHA compliance, and improve workplace safety. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $70-75K per year and includes very affordable insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver safety training programs, including new hire orientation, ongoing classroom training, and job-specific certifications (e.g., forklift, crane).
- Develop and maintain training materials for HAZCOM, LOTO, confined space, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and PPE assessments to ensure OSHA compliance.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead injury prevention initiatives, including targeted efforts around high-risk areas.
- Support development and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses to proactively identify and mitigate workplace risks.
- Maintain safety documentation, manuals, and compliance records.
- Facilitate safety meetings, monthly training initiatives, and shift-based safety communications.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor to identify hazards, reinforce safe behaviors, and promote a safety-first culture.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the EHS Manager as needed.
- Coordinate with external partners and regulatory agencies as needed to support environmental compliance and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental Science is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within a manufacturing industry is required
- Must have experience with OSHA regulations
- Must have the ability to conduct safety training and audits
- Ideal candidates will have experience with incident and near miss investigations.
- Ideal candidates will have the ability to manage and develop safety programs.
- Preferred candidates should possess strong communication skills.
- Preferred candidates should have experience with risk assessments.
