Director of Quality

We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the aerospace/defense space that’s looking to bring on a Director of Quality to lead and elevate their quality function.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll own the Quality Management System, work directly with leadership, and play a key role in driving compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and lead the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with AS9100 standards
- Drive the organization through AS9100 certification and ongoing compliance
- Lead internal audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with customers to address quality issues, complaints, and overall satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with ITAR and export regulations tied to government and defense work
- Oversee supplier quality and work cross-functionally with purchasing and operations
- Manage inspection, documentation control, calibration systems, and asset tracking
- Analyze quality metrics (defects, performance, trends) and report findings to leadership
- Lead and mentor the quality team while improving processes across the organization
What they’re looking for:
- 7–10 years in quality leadership within aerospace, defense, or similar regulated manufacturing
- Strong hands-on experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 (AS9120 is a plus)
- Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred)
- Experience with ITAR compliance and government contract requirements
- Ability to lead audits, root cause investigations, and system improvements
- Comfortable reading engineering drawings and working with inspection tools
- Proven experience managing teams within a quality or inspection environment
- Strong communicator — able to work across all levels internally and externally
