Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role partners cross‑functionally to support business objectives while leading and developing a high‑performing accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day corporate accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Oversee fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and revenue/expense recognition
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and coordination with auditors
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and other stakeholders to support financial initiatives and reporting needs
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, feedback, and performance management
- Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including people leadership
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Public accounting background and/or experience in a corporate environment
- Experience supporting audits and SOX/internal control environments
- Exposure to system implementations or accounting process transformations
