Summary

We are hiring an RN Executive Director for our Behavioral Health Home Care office in Rocky Hill. This position is full time salaried.

The Executive Director is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day operations of the home care provider. This includes coordinating and completing assigned projects to effectively support the immediate and long-range objectives of the company; oversight of the eligibility of patients referred to home care services, planning for the services to be provided to patients and supervising their total home health care; implementing and maintaining administrative practices, agency philosophy, goals, and policies which assure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations; enhancing the profitability of the agency; and providing motivation and retention of a qualified staff and assure the quality of services delivered. This position also acts as a liaison with management staff and other departments throughout the company.

 

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for continual compliance with all federal and state regulations, laws, and policies and procedures applicable to the services provided and licensure and/or certification of the agency. Maintains personal knowledge of up-to-date federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensures that only qualified personnel are hired and appropriately trained and that there are adequate staff to meet the client’s needs. Operates the location within the Company staffing model. Verifies licensure, certification, background checks and credentialing as required by law and policy prior to employment and annually thereafter. On an on-going basis, ensures that employees meet all in-service and educational requirements annually and ensure maintenance of records to support education and competency of all personnel.
  • Ensures the compliance, maintenance, confidentiality, and security of all employee and client records.
  • Ensures the compliance with electronic visit verification as required.
  • Acts as a liaison between staff, patients, the community, referral sources, physicians, agency managers/supervisors and home office departments.
  • Performs staff case conferences as needed and mandatory in-services including but not limited to monthly staff/safety meetings.
  • Directs daily agency activities to ensure that effective and efficient operations are in place to provide quality service and accurate reimbursement of services. Assists agency personnel as needed, including timely answering of phones, customer service and timely acceptance and admission of clients.
  • Directs the operational processes to ensure agency fiscal performance meets budget and supports growth strategies including review of weekly and metrics, productivity and agency financial statements to ensure the organization is on target with budgeted goals. Follows up, addresses issues, and implements action plans as appropriate to meet goals.
  • Ensures compliance with authorization, billing, and payroll process and timelines.
  • Is accessible and available during all hours in which services are being provided to clients
  • All other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

 

   Category I and II- Medicare Certified Home Health Providers:

  Executive Director I serves as the administrator of the provider and must meet the following requirements:
  • Hired prior to January 13, 2018: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice or have training and experience in health service administration and at least one (1) year of supervisory administrative experience in home health care or related health care program.
  • Hired after January 13, 2018: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice or have an undergraduate degree; and must have experience in health service administration with at least one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health care program.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Additional State Specific Requirements
  • CT: Must have a master’s degree in nursing or a bachelor’s degree with at least two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience in a healthcare facility; associate nursing degree cannot serve as Executive Director.
  • OH: If a Clinical Manager is not part of the agency staffing structure, then a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice is required with at least one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience in a home health care or related field.
  • WI: If a Clinical Manager is not part of the agency staffing structure, then a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice is required with at least one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience in home health care, hospice, or related field.
  • TN: If a Clinical Manager is not part of the agency staffing structure, then a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice is required with at least one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience in home health care, hospice, or related field.

 

Additional State Specific Requirements

If a Clinical Manager is not part of the agency staffing structure, the following state specific requirements must be met:

CT: To be appointed Supervisor of Clinical Services, must have one (1) year fulltime clinical experience in a home health agency and one of the following: (1)Master's degree or (2) bachelor degree with a minimum of three (3)years full-time clinical experience or (3)associate’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years full-time clinical experience in past five (5)years, and evidence of certification by ANA (What is ANA?) as a community health nurse or completion of at least (6) credits received within two (2) years in community health nursing theory or six (6) credits in health care management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing.

  • KY: Must have at least two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the field of aging or disabilities.
  • LA: One year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • WI: Must have at least one (1) year of supervisory or administrative experience in personal care services or a related program.
TN: No additional requirements
