What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at LHB, Inc.?
LHB has an immediate opportunity for an Accountant I to join our Finance team. The position will be based in our Duluth, Minnesota office and supports the Finance team with project accounting, billing, and financial reporting activities.
This role partners closely with project managers and senior finance staff to ensure accurate financial data, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting across LHB’s project portfolio.
Position Summary
The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Set up and maintain projects in the ERP system
- Manage project billing terms and budgets
- Prepare customer invoicing and revenue recognition entries
- Prepare sales journals in accordance with ASC 606 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers
- Review accounts payable related to projects and subconsultants
- Manage subconsultant fees and related documentation
- Assist project managers with project financial reporting and analysis
- Assist with month-end close entries and financial statement preparation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (May 2026 graduates considered)
- Microsoft Office skills

- Ability to read and interpret professional services contracts
- Demonstrated auditing or compliance-related skills
Salary Range
- This position’s anticipated base salary range is $64,750 - $71,570 annually (This position is eligible for yearend bonuses, as well as straight time overtime pay for all hours that exceed 40 in a work week) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
