Accountant - Online Consumer Products Company

About Us

Aa growing online consumer products company selling through Amazon, Target, Walmart, and our own website. We're looking for a hands-on Accountant to own our accounting operations and help us scale across channels.

The Role

You'll lead our accounting function and make sure our books are accurate, timely, and audit-ready. You'll work closely with the Controller and with our procurement, fulfillment, and operations teams to turn multi-channel sales data into clear financial reporting.

Responsibilities

•        Oversee the full accounting cycle: general ledger, AP, AR, month-end and year-end close

•        Reconcile and record sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and payouts across Amazon, Target, Walmart, and our website

•        Track channel-level revenue, margins, and marketplace fees to support pricing and profitability decisions

•        Manage accounting for product procurement, including purchase orders, vendor payments, landed costs, and inventory valuation

•        Work with fulfillment and logistics teams to account for shipping, warehousing, returns, and inventory movements

•        Maintain QuickBooks Desktop and ensure data integrity across systems

•        Pull, query, and analyze data from databases to build reports and reconcile transactions

•        Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports

•        Maintain internal controls and coordinate with our CPA on tax filings and audits (including sales tax across states)

•        Improve and document accounting processes as the company grows

Qualifications

•        Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)

•        [X] years of accounting experience, including [X] years in a controller or senior accounting role

•        Proven experience accounting for multi-channel e-commerce sales, ideally including Amazon, Target, and Walmart marketplaces

•        Experience with product procurement, inventory costing, and fulfillment accounting

•        Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop

•        Comfort working with databases (e.g., SQL) to extract and analyze financial data

•        Strong Excel skills

•        Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight close deadlines

•        Ability to travel occasionally to Tampa, FL (reliable transportation required)

Nice to Have

•        Experience with Amazon Seller/Vendor Central settlement reports and Walmart/Target payout reconciliation

•        Experience with e-commerce sales tax compliance

•        Experience with accounting software integrations or a future migration from QuickBooks Desktop
