What You’ll Do
As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you’ll work closely with Production, Engineering, and Sales to ensure parts meet precise customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a liaison between production, customers, and sales regarding quality concerns
- Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical standards
- Selecting and testing products at different stages of production for dimensions, performance, and material characteristics
- Recording and evaluating test data using statistical quality control procedures
- Performing final inspections and generating detailed reports
- Making recommendations to improve quality or production standards
- Setting up and conducting destructive and nondestructive tests as needed
- Using a range of precision inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and more
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of experience in a related inspection, quality, or manufacturing role
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in environments certified to ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
- Familiarity with aerospace industry requirements and quality expectations
- Lead or supervisory experience in a quality or manufacturing role
- Proficiency with SPC tools/software
- Skilled use of inspection tools and equipment including:
- Calipers, micrometers, durometers
- Optical comparators, CMMs
- Rockwell hardness testers, eddy current meters, surface plates, protractors, and height gauges
- Ability to document inspection results clearly and prepare formal reports
