Summary Of The Role

Seeking an entry-level Conveyor Belting Technician who is mechanically inclined. Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks, as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities

• Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and proceduresÂ
• Works closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members in attaining goals and objectivesÂ
• Good understanding of overall Quality process and documentation;Â
• Communicate general and quality-related concerns to management;Â
• Provide onsite customer serviceÂ
• Perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized spliceÂ
• Understands tools and machinery applicable to the jobÂ
• Travel is required part of jobÂ
• Perform other duties as trained and qualified for.Â
  
  

Skills And Abilities

• Must be able to work overtime hours, evening and weekends, when requiredÂ
• Must be able travel to out-of-town jobs, as neededÂ
• Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional mannerÂ
• Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.Â
• Basic computer skills including; internet and email.Â
• Must be able to apply OSHA standards applicable and MSHA standards as applicable (training will be provided)Â
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of ageÂ
• Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving recordÂ
• Have a high school diploma/GEDÂ
• Reliable transportation is a mustÂ
• Be able to work independentlyÂ
• Ability to safely drive a Company truckÂ
• Ability to work overtime, as requiredÂ
• Ability to work nights and weekends, as required Â
• Basic math skillsÂ
• Properly measure with a tape measureÂ
• Ability to travel on regular basisÂ
• Background checks, drug screening, and a physical may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)Â
• Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical exam, or have a current DOT medical card
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with conveyors and conveyor componentsÂ
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experienceÂ
• Mechanically inclinedÂ
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery a plusÂ
• OSHA 10 and MSHA certificationsÂ
• First aid and CPR certificationsÂ
  
  

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

This role may include a mix of customer onsite work and warehouse floor environments. Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, rain, and wind. • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs independently on a repeated basis. Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid.

• Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to count and measure accurately.
• Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools.
• Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day.Â
• Ability to inspect products for wear, damage, and leaks.
• Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
