Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior or Principal level Electrical Engineer for a long-term (6-12 month) assignment to assist with Systems Engineering Design. The candidate will be expected to be knowledgeable in several electrical engineering disciplines, including electrical and electro-mechanical design, engineering documentation, and performing Design Verification Testing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform System design work, including electromechanical layout and implementation, per NEC code
- Power circuit design and verification
- Develop test plans and procedures
- Provide content for end-user documentation
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
- Interface with suppliers and contract design/manufacturing companies as needed
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Experience with power, control, and communications equipment and circuits for a complex system
- Working knowledge of the latest National Electric Code (NEC)
- Experience specifying, selecting, and integrating components such as circuit breakers, fuses, power supplies, UPS units, and cabling
- Understanding of AC voltage theory – single phase, three phase, and transformers
- Proficient in reading component specifications, electrical drawings, and circuit schematics
- Proficient in creating system level wiring and schematic diagrams
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Desired:
- Experience with battery storage and power equipment
- Experience with DC components and circuits
- PLC or I/O signal design experience
- Cable assembly specification and design including physical layout
- Evaluation and qualification of 3rd party devices and equipment
- Bring-up and troubleshooting of prototype systems
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8 years direct involvement in analog and power circuit design
Desired:
- Systems Integration and/or Systems Engineering experience
Travel
- Possibly required; infrequent
Salary : $130,000 - $185,000
