Summary:
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment and systems. The complexity of work, level of technical expertise, degree of independence, and scope of responsibility will vary based on the assigned level (I, II, III).
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities listed below represent the core duties of this position. Additional responsibilities, scope of work, project ownership, leadership expectations, and decision-making authority may be assigned based on the job level (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), experience, qualifications, and business needs.
- Maintain HVAC systems including equipment, ductwork, clean/dry room equipment, and process-supporting equipment such as mixers, coater ovens, dust collectors, activated carbon filters, hot oil boilers, regenerative thermal oxidizers, chillers, boilers, AHUs, and related systems.
- Understand equipment programming and perform temperature adjustments and basic programming modifications.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers to schedule maintenance and repairs.
- Check equipment regularly to ensure normal operating activity.
- Monitor data from measuring devices and HVAC system performance.
- Monitor HVAC and room conditions to support optimal production operations.
- Contact manufacturers to perform warranty work on equipment when required.
- Be responsible for maintaining areas with Clean and Dry Room ratings.
- Report mechanical equipment issues to the Mechanical Engineer and/or Supervisor.
- Work with maintenance personnel and cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance issues and coordinate services.
- Coordinate inventory and ordering of parts, tools, and materials for routine projects and stock replenishment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:
- Providing technical expertise for complex or non-routine HVAC issues.
- Supporting Facilities Engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentoring and training less experienced technicians.
- Maintaining proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and recommending system improvements.
- Serving as a liaison with vendors and contractors.
- Analyzing building HVAC performance and recommending operational improvements.
- Supporting troubleshooting and optimization of facility mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Vocational Certificate HVAC, or related field preferred.
- Associate Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- Relevant equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:
- Level I: 1–3 years of related experience.
- Level II: 3–5 years of related experience.
- Level III: 5 years of related experience.
