Summary:
As a Battery Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role in leading the development and execution of our HV battery projects focused on prismatic cell form factor. You will work closely with the customer and cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of battery systems that meet our high standards for performance, safety, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning, execution, and delivery of battery pack projects from concept through production
- Collaborate with customer, sales, and engineering teams to define technical requirements, develop project timelines, and identify resources needed for successful project completion
- Coordinate with a multi-cultural R&D team to incorporate the latest battery technology and innovations into product designs
- Manage technical risks throughout the project, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Facilitate communication across customer and related teams to ensure alignment and address any technical challenges
- Monitor project progress, adjusting plans and resources to meet deadlines and budget constraints
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies
- Serve as a technical liaison between the company, suppliers, and external partners to ensure technical specifications and quality standards are met
- Prepare and present project updates, technical reviews, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles
Qualifications:
- Requirements - Prismatic Cell development experience.
- Bilingual in English & Korean.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field
- Direct experience (4 years) with high-voltage battery systems or related electrification technologies
- Proven experience (7 years) of engineering excellence in vehicle/component development and product launch
- Understanding of battery chemistry, cell form factors, battery management systems (BMS), battery component integration, and the latest trends in HV battery technology.
- Experience with product development cycles, from concept to manufacturing
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Desired Job Experience:
- In-depth understanding of pack and part design integration, specifically new welding structure, component design, and external CAN design
- Proficient in guiding product design engineering responsibilities across the development process, from initial quoting stages to mass production
- Skilled in utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to streamline and manage project documentation and workflows
- Experienced in conducting milestone reviews for program development, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholder requirements
- Demonstrates a strong sense of dependability, initiative, and cooperation within cross-functional program development teams
- Exhibits independence and self-guidance to effectively manage responsibilities and priorities, catering to both short and long-term projects
- Proficient in performing thorough analysis and interpretation of test data to support product validation efforts
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills utilizing methodologies such as Design of Experiments (DOE), 8D, etc.
- Possesses knowledge and experience within the automotive industry, particularly in high-voltage battery systems and electric vehicles
- Maintains a record of predictable and reliable attendance
