Summary:
This Job leads by for ensuring a product or component meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the organization. Communicate effectively within all levels of organization to discuss and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee effective implementation of the QMS, including any business accreditations
- Maintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for business, operation, and customer requirements
- Train inspectors to perform components/product incoming/inline inspections
- Organize and manage internal and external audits and corrective action reporting, including training and guiding other auditors
- Attend meetings for abroad Suppliers and HQ request, if agenda is related to changes on components/product and quality issues
- Maintain the Standard Operating Procedure content and coordinate the issuing of these documents
- Review, collect, and analyze data on quality procedures to continuously improve plant targets using the 4M process
- Maintain and repair laboratory machines as necessary and track spare parts
- Train new inspectors and engineers on quality issues
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis
- Provide quality information to customer service team
- Communicate with regulatory agencies regarding compliance documentation or validation results
- Recommend resolution of identified deviations from established product or process standards
- Create, populate, or maintain databases for tracking validation activities, test results, or validated systems
- Participate in internal or external training programs to maintain knowledge of validation principles, industry trends, or novel technologies
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA, MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
- Greenbelt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) preferred
Experience:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role or Reproducible experiment work in an automotive manufacturing environment including internship or co-op's experience
- Experience with complete core documents, including control plans and process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) helpful
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC)
- Experience with 4M change process required
Skills:
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of APQP, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine and assembly processes, problem solving, PFD/PFMEA/Control Plan, PPAP, 8D/5Why, team facilitation and geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally
- Experience with Global Plant and Supplier Development
