Position Summary
The ESS Manufacturing Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert supporting the successful ramp-up and stabilization of Grid-Scale ESS manufacturing operations. This role will focus on improving productivity, optimizing labor and material flow, reducing operational losses, and establishing scalable manufacturing processes.
The Advisor will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing performance while supporting the transition from startup to mass production.
Key Responsibilities
Production Stabilization & Continuous Improvement
- Support production ramp-up and stabilization activities for Grid-Scale ESS manufacturing
- Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and production losses
- Improve cycle time, labor productivity, and overall manufacturing performance
- Conduct line balancing and workforce optimization activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles
Manufacturing Operations Excellence
- Establish and monitor key production KPIs
- Analyze production performance and recommend corrective actions
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Support yield improvement and loss reduction initiatives
- Monitor production progress against manufacturing plans
Material & Logistics Optimization
- Improve material flow and inventory management processes
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to minimize material shortages and excess inventory
- Support ERP-based inventory control and production planning activities
Startup & Process Development
- Support development and implementation of manufacturing procedures and standards
- Participate in process validation and production readiness activities
- Assist in establishing scalable manufacturing systems for future expansion
- Support implementation of best practices from other LG Energy Solution manufacturing sites
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams
- Support internal audits and customer audits as required
- Provide coaching and guidance to manufacturing personnel
- Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities
Workplace Organization & Safety
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
- Support implementation of 5S and workplace organization standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturing procedures
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
Experience
- 7 years of manufacturing, production, continuous improvement, or operations experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing startup, ramp-up, or mass production environments preferred
- Experience in battery, ESS, automotive, semiconductor, automation, or high-volume manufacturing industries preferred
