What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Aide position at Leyton Public Schools?
REPORTS TO: Head Cook, Principal, and Superintendent
HOURS OF WORK: Up to 7.5 hours per day; Dalton: 8:30 – 1:30; Gurley: 7:00 – 2:30
DAYS OF WORK: Monday through Friday when students are present at school; some days before school starts or after school ends to organize inventory
STARTING WAGE: Per Salary Schedule; any raises begin September 1
SICK LEAVE: 5 days (37.5 hours) per school year, can accumulate up to 15 (no pay for unused)
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: 5 days (37.5 hours) per school year
PERSONAL LEAVE: 1 day (7.5 hours) per school year
PAID HOLIDAYS: 4 days per school year (New Year’s, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
RETIREMENT: 9.78% of wages is deducted from paychecks for deposit in a retirement account. The District matches that amount at 9.8778%. The State also makes a 2% contribution.
OTHER: AFLAC Insurance is available for life, health, dental, vision, and disability. A 403b retirement plan is available.
DUTIES:
Prepare food.
Set up serving line.
Serve food.
Clean up student spills.
Wash dishes.
Clean kitchen.
Clean and store kitchen equipment.
Report any needed repairs to Food Service Director.
May record students’ names, food items taken, and monetary charge for the items.
