Job Summary
The Rental Agent is responsible for providing quality customer service and promoting a remarkable car rental experience.
Essential Functions:

- Coordinates vehicle reservations, ensuring availability and proper allocation of vehicles.
- Greets customers warmly and assist them in person or over the phone.
- Determines the type of automobile and accessories desired by customer, location for pick up/return of automobile, and number of days needed for rental.
- Quotes cost of rental, based on type of automobile, daily rates, estimated mileage, insurance coverage requested, and amount of deposit required.
- Examines customer's Driver's License and credit card to determine validity of identification.
- Verifies insurance coverage to determine eligibility for rental.
- Completes rental contract, explains rental policies and procedures, and obtains customer signature deposit.
- Receives automobiles returned by customers, checks automobile upon return for damage and record mileage and fuel level reading.
- Computes rental charges based on the type of automobile, length of time, distance traveled, taxes, and other expenses, such as late charges or damage fees incurred during rental.
- Reconciles cash or credit card slips with rental agreements and send them on to management.
- Assists customers with any inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
- Keeps front desk and other areas clean and presentable at all times.
- May be required to drop-off and pick up customers from dealership or other locations.
- May perform other duties as requested by Management.
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer Service experience preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record which shall be reviewed by the dealership as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, in person, and in writing.
- Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualizes and prioritizes objectives, and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with data systems and office software on a computer.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, smell, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Employee must be able to use different type of equipment and/or tools: computers, operate vehicles
The employee is expected to make quick decisions, communicate with visitors or customers, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity objectives and/or sales quota.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to indoor conditions with occasional outdoor weather conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually above moderate.

- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
- Due to the critical nature of the automotive industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the dealership. In addition, attendance at all schedule training sessions and meetings is required.
