Commercial Litigation Paralegal – Dallas, Texas
About the Firm
Our client is a well-established boutique trial and litigation firm composed of nine attorneys known for consistently outperforming much larger opponents. The firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal for its Dallas office — a professional who shares their commitment to outworking, outthinking, and outmaneuvering opposing counsel at every stage of litigation.
While the firm primarily represents plaintiffs, its practice spans a wide range of complex commercial disputes across industries such as finance, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, construction, insurance, banking, and manufacturing. Typical matters include breach of contract, fraud, fiduciary duty violations, tortious interference, whistleblower actions, corporate governance disputes, bankruptcy, and intellectual property issues. With their meticulous and strategic approach, the firm is also frequently engaged for defense representation and pre-litigation counseling, providing guidance beyond litigation itself.
What You’ll Do
- Case & Court Management:
- Prepare and file pleadings in state and federal courts (including Texas, New York, California, and others).
- Maintain organized electronic case files, deposition records, and expert witness materials.
- Track court filings, hearing dates, and deadlines.
- Draft and manage scheduling orders consistent with local court rules.
- Monitor high-volume correspondence and manage case-related communications.
- Provide calendar and scheduling support for multiple attorneys.
- Trial & Deposition Preparation:
- Assemble and organize court filings, discovery materials, exhibits, and deposition sets.
- Coordinate logistics with court reporters, videographers, and expert witnesses.
- Support trial teams with mediation, arbitration, and courtroom logistics.
- Document & Records Management:
- Review, index, and prepare documents for production (including Bates labeling and vendor coordination).
- Proofread and cite-check complex briefs (50 pages and up to 100 footnotes).
- Locate and verify missing citations and prepare appendices for filings.
- Technology & Administrative Support:
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat required.
- Perform both administrative and paralegal responsibilities efficiently.
- Manage virtual meetings, conference calls, and scheduling through Zoom and other tools.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of paralegal experience in commercial or securities litigation (experience in construction or catastrophic injury litigation a plus).
- Proficient in e-filing across state and federal jurisdictions.
- Exceptional proofreading, cite-checking, and document formatting skills.
- Capable of managing multiple active cases and tight deadlines simultaneously.
- Commitment to a long-term role and team stability.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during trial prep or filing deadlines when necessary.
- Strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Adaptable and personable — serious about work, but able to enjoy the process and have fun along the way.
