Job Summary
Lexington Prescription Center is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our independent community pharmacy team. We are looking for a licensed technician with at least 2 years of pharmacy experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
- Enter prescription information accurately into the pharmacy system
- Process insurance claims and assist with billing issues
- Answer phone calls and assist customers with prescription questions and refill requests
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Operate cash register and process customer transactions
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, and expiration date checks
- Prepare prescriptions for pickup or delivery
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
- Communicate professionally with customers, providers, and insurance companies
- Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license/registration required
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Some Saturday hours are required
