The Assistant Middle School Cheerleading Coach supports the Head Coach in developing a positive, disciplined, and skill-focused cheer program that promotes school spirit, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, including teaching cheers, chants, stunts, and routines
- Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and events to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
- Support the Head Coach in organizing tryouts, performances, and team activities
- Encourage teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship among athletes
- Help monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete eligibility requirements
- Assist with equipment management, uniforms, and communication with parents when needed
Qualifications:
- Previous cheerleading experience required
- Prior coaching experience preferred (minimum 1 year recommended)
- Knowledge of cheer techniques, stunting safety, and crowd engagement
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and administration
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Work Environment:
- After-school practices, games, and occasional weekend events
- Indoor and outdoor settings depending on activities
