The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club is seeking an energetic and highly organized Merchandise Intern for the 2026 season. This opportunity is perfect for college students who are looking for an introduction to the sports business or baseball, especially if you are interested in retail or merchandise.
This is an internship that will be hands on and fast paced, while allowing you to gain valuable merchandise and customer service experience. The candidate will oversee our in-stadium team store and assist with our e-commerce store.

The Blowfish summer internship program is designed to provide you training in each area so you will gain valuable skills that assist in progressing your sports career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with our Front Office staff for inventory and ordering merchandise for our team store and e-commerce store.
- Manage inventory in Square, our e-commerce and POS platform.
- Use organization equipment, such as a heat press, to apply transfers to apparel for sale in team store.
- Ensure that the merchandise store is set up appropriately prior to gates opening on a game day.
- Train other interns in the team store to work on game day.
- Identify any opportunities to improve team store or e-commerce offerings to enhance the organization's merchandise.
- Work with Assistant General Manager with cash handling and counting cash till at end of game.
Schedule & Expectations:
The Merchandise Intern is expected to work all home games. On game day, the candidate is expected to report when assigned by the Assistant General Manager and assist with pregame setup.
Who are we looking for?
The Blowfish are seeking college students with HIGH attention to detail who live in the Midlands of South Carolina or attend a local college or university. Interns are required to routinely travel to Lexington County Baseball Stadium. It is highly preferred that students are able to receive course credit from their college or university for the summer internship. Interns must be available to work from mid-May through the second week of August.
About the Blowfish:
Named after the best band of the 90s – Hootie and the Blowfish – the Blowfish are a summer collegiate baseball team located in Lexington, South Carolina, and affiliated with the Coastal Plain League. The Blowfish are famous for community engagement, all-you-can-eat ticket plans and providing affordable family fun at the ballpark. The Blowfish are locally-owned by Bill and Vicki Shanahan. Three summers ago, more than 25 interns celebrated on the field as the team won the 2023 CPL Petitt Cup Championship. The Blowfish also were named the 2023 CPL Organization of the Year.
