SUMMARY:
The Neurosurgery Triage/Clinical Support Licensed Practical Nurse is a specialized role focused on managing Neurosurgery patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsible for providing nursing care to patients, utilizing knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices and ethics. Acting as a liaison between patients and neurosurgeons, providing triage, managing DME coordination, and assisting with clinical care.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training which will be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited LPN school of nursing; basic life support and CPR certifications; current Kentucky state licensure required; minimum two years broad experience with emphasis in medical office duties; ability to monitor patient condition; good verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position, and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; lift, move and transport patients and materials; manual dexterity and motor coordination; articulate speech; read and understand medical information; visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors.
