We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Administrator to join our team for the Nucor Project in Apple Grove, West Virginia.
Position Summary
The Safety Administrator, reporting to the Site Safety Manager, will be responsible for onboarding new employees, managing safety programs, and performing administrative tasks to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role is essential in supporting the safety processes and does not include management responsibilities. The position requires strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Physical Demands
Overtime, weekend work, odd hours, and overnight travel as required. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, ironwork and scaffolding to heights <200 feet. Ability to walk in excess of five miles per day. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 60 pounds occasionally and carry 25 pounds frequently. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations and a dusty, loud environment. Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.

- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they receive proper safety training and orientation.
- Maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the construction site.
- Provide training sessions on safety practices and procedures to all employees.
- Assist in accident investigations and compile reports to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reporting.
- Support project managers and supervisors in promoting a culture of safety on the job site.
- Perform general administrative tasks related to safety compliance and reporting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety support roles within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and facilitate onboarding processes.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is a plus.
