Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on RV electrical systems, engines, transmissions, HVAC units, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components using automotive diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts including belts, hoses, electrical wiring, plumbing systems, and auto body components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems with precision.
- Assemble or disassemble RV components during repairs or upgrades while maintaining high safety standards.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify potential problems early and recommend appropriate maintenance or repairs to customers or management.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with equipment repair and maintenance tasks around the shop to support overall operational efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background working with recreational vehicles or similar large vehicles.
- Extensive hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with automotive repair tools including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and heavy lifting gear.
- Knowledge of transmissions, oil change procedures, air brake systems, alignment techniques, suspension components, HVAC systems, tire service procedures, diesel engine repair methods, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair processes, auto body repair techniques, plumbing systems within RVs, and automotive electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills for complex diagnostics.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Experience working in a dealership environment or with specialized RV service centers is highly preferred.
