What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Lexamica?
Business Development Representative Lexamica | Little Rock, AR | Full-Time | In-Office
About Lexamica
Lexamica is a legal tech startup building the infrastructure that connects law firms to each other. We operate a case referral network - helping firms route the right cases to the right people, faster and more efficiently than anything that exists today.
We're early, we're growing fast, and the firms we work with range from regional players to some of the largest in the country.
This is not a company that has had decades to figure everything out. Things move, priorities shift, and the people here are the ones building what comes next.
The Role
We're looking for a BDR to join a small but growing sales team. Your job is straightforward: find the right law firms, speak with a key decision maker/influencer, and book qualified meetings for our sales reps. Most of your pipeline will come from outbound; cold calls, emails, and legal conferences.
On the conference side, you'll travel regularly to represent Lexamica in person. Frequency varies, but expect it to be a consistent part of the job. (All travel is covered by Lexamica)
On the prospecting side, you'll be handed a defined set of firms to target, established sequences to work from, and a team that will set you up for success. Day-to-day, you'll have autonomy, this isn't a role where someone is watching your screen or how many calls you make. The only metric we care about: qualified meetings booked per month.
The sequences and target lists are provided, but this isn't a set-it-and-forget-it role. Things get refined over time and the people doing the work are encouraged to speak up on ideas to improve the role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Cold calling and emailing mid-market law firms from an assigned target list
- Working legal conferences to generate pipeline face-to-face
- Qualifying firms against our ICP before booking meetings
- Handing off booked meetings to Sales Reps/Account Executives
- Keeping HubSpot updated and your sequences running clean in Outreach
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 2 years of BDR or SDR experience preferred - the right person with less and a strong track record will get a serious look
- College degree preferred but not required
- Any additional experience in prospecting, sales, economics, etc are beneficial as well
- Networking events or conference experience is a huge plus
- Experience in legal tech or selling to law firms is a bonus, not a requirement
Tech Stack
- Our tech stack is Outreach, ZoomInfo, HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Microsoft suite, and a few others.
- Fluency in any of these is a plus - we won't turn away a great candidate over tool familiarity, but if you've lived in these platforms you'll hit the ground faster
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary plus commission
- Health insurance covered by the company
- Flexible PTO
- Conference travel covered
A Note on Growth
We're a small team right now. The people joining at this stage are the ones who will have the most say in what this team looks like as it scales. This is very exciting to us and we are eager to bring on wonderful people who are just as excited!
