General Description
The PDU Assembler is responsible for performing light mechanical assembly and soldering of finished and semi-finished goods. This includes assembling components, following point-to-point wiring instructions, and joining parts into complete products. Assemblies range from cable assemblies for power and data distribution to fully enclosed Power Distribution Units (PDUs) in both rubber and metal housings.
Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Build products to assembly standards for both quantity and quality.
- Use hand tools such as soldering equipment, drills, saws, and wrenches.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Metrics / Accountability
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment (including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal).
- Communicate regularly with managers and peers.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Report any safety or operational concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Use sound judgment to perform tasks correctly the first time.
- Offer suggestions to improve department efficiency and performance.
- Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification in electrical work preferred.
Abilities / Skills Required
- Ability to meet assembly standards for both quantity and quality.
- Proficiency with hand tools (soldering instruments, drills, saws, wrenches, etc.).
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documents.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work with both metric and standard (English) units of measure.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing factory setting.
