Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and experience working with children in various capacities. This role involves providing personalized instruction and support to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping them achieve their academic goals. The Tutor will work closely with students of different ages and backgrounds, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects, ensuring that each student understands the material.
- Develop customized lesson plans that cater to the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain a focused and productive learning atmosphere.
- Utilize behavior management strategies to support students with diverse learning challenges, including those requiring special education services.
- Foster a supportive relationship with students, encouraging their academic growth and personal development.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Engage students through interactive activities, incorporating elements from sports coaching, theater, or other relevant experiences to enhance learning.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all students, applying first aid knowledge when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational settings such as tutoring, daycare, camp counseling, or babysitting.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to adapt lessons for various learning styles.
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
- Background in Christian counseling or similar fields is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and parents.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate creative elements from sports coaching or theater as applicable.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
